Nebraska Radio History Archive Presentation:

KOZN

1620 became a reality in 1999 when the FCC granted 1180 KOIL an expanded band allocation.  At the time KOIL was an ESPN affiliate and programming was moved to 1620.  1180 remained on the air, picking up affiliation with Radio Disney.

The originally assigned call letters KAZP were used into 2001 when call letters belonging to 660 in 70's were ressurected.  KAZP became KOZN--1620 "The ZONE".
