The New Kid on The (Frog) Block
KFGE (Froggy 98) is the Newest Station in the Lincoln Market...twice!
In 1993 KFGE/Froggy 105 began broadcasting through a Local Management Agreement with the folks over at Broadcast House (Who at the time also ran KLIN and B 107.3 (KBBK).  They transmitted at 3,000 watts on 105.3 FM and became a small thorn in the side of KZKX, who had been the only FM Country station in the Market.
In 1996 an allocation was made available at 98.1 FM, Licensed to Milford, less than 20 miles straight west of Lincoln.  With the coming of the "big stick", Froggy 98 and 96KX had similar signals.  The New Froggy 98 added more "live" announcers and developed an afternoon drive show, in addition to incorporating more "froggy" image into their programming.  Music sets known as "Frog Blocks" and announcer names like "Splash Gordon and Miller Hopps" were used.
The old 105.3 Frequency remained part of Warner's "Broadcast House" and became KKUL, "Kool 105", with a successful oldies format..   Warner sold their radio stations to Triad Broadcasting in May of 2000.
